Oxandrolone

Mechanism of Action
A DHT-derivative with a modification at the 2-position (replacement of carbon with oxygen atom). Does not aromatize to estrogen. Has a low androgenic rating (24) relative to its anabolic rating (322-630). Promotes phosphocreatine synthesis within muscle cells, enhancing ATP regeneration. Directly promotes lipolysis.
Dosing Research
Male performance dosing typically 40-80 mg per day. Female dosing typically 5-20 mg per day. Cycles are usually 6-8 weeks. Due to its mild nature and high cost, it is sometimes used as a standalone for beginners or as an addition to injectable cycles. Has a half-life of approximately 9 hours.
Side Effects & Risks
Mildest side effect profile among oral steroids but still suppresses natural testosterone production. Has a negative impact on lipid profiles, particularly HDL cholesterol. Hepatotoxicity is mild compared to other oral steroids but still present. Minimal androgenic side effects. Does not cause water retention or gynecomastia.
